Things to See and Do in Sedona. Sedona, also known as Red Rock Country, is an Arizona desert town near Flagstaff. It is surrounded by red rocks, canyon walls, and pine forests. This town has just about everything to offer for any type of adventure. Here is a short list of the many things to see and do in Sedona.

Cathedral Rock

Cathedral Rock is a very popular rock formation in the center of Sedona. It can be seen from just about anywhere in town and can be accessed from various hiking points. The Red Rock State Park offers a few flat trails that lead to an unobstructed view of Cathedral Rock framed by Oak Creek. For the adventurous souls, the Cathedral Rock Trail gets you to the middle of the rock formation. However, this trail is considered more of a rock climb than a hike and while short, can be rather difficult.

Uptown Sedona

Uptown Sedona is a commercial district located in the middle of the town. It consists of art galleries, souvenir stores, gelato cafes, sit-down restaurants, and tour kiosks. The variety of activities to do make this a fun stop worth a visit.

Devil’s Bridge

Devil’s Bridge is Sedona’s largest rock arch. The Devil’s Bridge Trail is a 1.8 mile round-trip trek that leads to a somewhat difficult rock climb to the bridge. Once at the top, you are able to cross the bridge and take amazing pictures of the views.

Swimming Holes

Sedona has tons of swimming holes and creeks to pick from for a relaxing way to cool off from hikes or just the heat! Some of the best spots to see are Grasshopper Point, Midgely Bridge, Slide Rock State Park, and Red Rock Crossing.

Starry Sky

Sedona is a Dark Sky Community, making it an amazing spot for stargazing. Aerie Trailhead and Baldwin Trailhead are two locations recommended for night-sky viewing.

If you’ve had enough walking for one trip, make sure to check out the pink jeep tour!
